Topology Optimization of a Cableway Pylon with Assessment of Uncertain Loading

Topology optimization is an effective numerical tool to design high-performance, efficient and economical lightweight structures. The objectives of this work are threefold: development open-source large-scale three-dimensional topology framework, assessment uncertain loading on optimal validation engineering example. We introduce the cableway pylon problem [1] developing load case boundary conditions supported by data based existing structure provided industry partner. resulting lattice-truss-like agrees with model characteristics. effects compliance investigated per [2].
